Khao Thai on Hendersonville Rd in Arden is still my favorite Thai restaurant in town. Tonight the Massaman Curry with Chicken was perfect. Great consistency, potatoes cooked through, a bit sweet with that hit of coconut milk and just the right level of spice. It's often the curry I order with friends who aren't sure how they feel about curry, a perfect "gateway" curry - so-to-speak. The Pad Kee Mow noodles (AKA Drunken Noodles) here always just hit! Every noodle stir fried and coated in that irresistible umami flavor with that bright basil and bell pepper freshness. I wanted to clean the plate. We also love the Curry Puff appetizer. And the service is the quintessential gracious Thai hospitality you've heard about and without flying to Thailand (the land of smiles) you can come to this restaurant to see and feel it on display. Worth the drive to discover this hidden gem.

Swung by to get some to go in a pinch. We went basic with a Pad Thai and a Pad See Ew. I really liked the Pad Thai. Rich flavor and pretty loaded with veggies. The pad see ew was solid. Both were huge portions. I think next time I’m going to swap the pad see ew for the pad kee mao just to see if I like that one more

The service, the food, and the overall quality was awesome! The panang curry and spicy veggie was delicious. The Thai ice tea was flavorful and the Tom Kha soup was fantastic. Overall, this is a good place to enjoy dinner and a great value for the money! I’d recommend to give it a try if you’re in Asheville.

We greatly enjoyed this Thai food. We’ve been searching around Asheville for a few years to find a place good as we have in Marble Falls, Texas. We found it . I had the pad Thai, which was exquisite - shrimp cooked perfectly . My wife pad had Kemow. Servings were generous - more generous than my wife, as she would only give me one bite. Servers were very nice and food came out nice and hot. We live in Candler, but we will gladly make the trip back. In fact, maybe next week. We want to try the curry.

The food was pretty good. We ordered the Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, Thai Iced Tea, and Massaman Curry. They were all delicious, and the portion size was generous for the price. The servers were kind, and the wait time was average. The restaurant had a nice and peaceful atmosphere, and I would probably come here again.
